History
Pioneer
Abstract and Title Company was founded in 1898 by
William K. Stalcup and has been recognized as a
symbol of excellence since its beginning. Pioneer
existed before Otero County was even established when
the area was still a part of bordering Dona Ana and
Lincoln Counties. Even though it was created over 105
years ago, Pioneer Title has only had six
proprietors. Present owner, Lowell Stephens, a second
generation title man, began his career at Pioneer
over 40 years ago and became the company's owner in
1987.
| Our office is managed by
the most experienced staff in Otero County.
In addition to Stephens' title and closing
expertise, Stephens' oldest son, Jeff,
carries 21 years of title experience and is
over the title department bringing together 3
generations of title men.
